Bedford Crane Boogie 2006
The Bedford River Festival was host to the inaugural UK Crane Boogie in July 2006. With 25 jumpers, a 300 foot high crane and the best weather we could have hoped for the day went off without a hitch and over 150 jumps were made, entirely without incident. This unique event was seen by an estimated 200,000 spectators, with countless others watching from downtown as the crane was visible from the town centre and miles around!
Despite not being heavily advertised to the media we received a good amount of coverage with full page reports in the papers and a lengthy report played many times on Sky news. A programme by Genex is currently being shown on the Extreme sports channel and showcases the event in it’s own “street” style. All in all it was a fantastic day and a great start to the UK Pro BASE scene.
