Having started skydiving in 1992 and BASE jumping four years later Max has completed over 550 BASE jumps from fixed objects around the world including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the KL Tower in Malaysia as well as competing in the World Indoor BASE Championships. He was also the first British person to jump into the Cave of the Swallows in Mexico.
Max has a wide range of experience within both BASE jumping and skydiving; he has shot freefall footage of wing-suit skydives in front of the Eiger for Sony PlayStation, performed complex aerial manoeuvres whilst BASE jumping from the Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai, China and participated in the “World Team” international freefall skydiving record in Thailand. He has over 3200 skydives and holds a British Parachute Association (BPA) instructor rating for Tandem skydiving with more than 2000 instructional jumps under his belt.
Having presented Britain’s first public display of BASE jumping in association with Go Fast Sports at the Bedford Riverside Festival in 2006, Max co-founded UK Pro BASE with Dave Moores in order to positively increase public awareness of BASE jumping within the UK.
From his previous job as a communications engineer he brings experience of working at height, rigging knowledge and is very familiar with HSE risk assessment procedures. He is adept at finding safe-working methods in unusual and demanding situations. Max now works as a life saving Emergency Medical Technician on front-line ambulances in London and brings his medical skills and experience to all UK ProBASE activities. He also continues to work as a tandem skydiving instructor on a freelance basis.
