UK ProBASE at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.

BASE jumping from a rugby stadiumSaturday 5th June 2010 saw the UK Pro BASE team at this fantastic venue, delivering the match ball at the start of the International Rugby test match between Wales and South Africa.

After 3 months of site visits, meetings and 3 days of practice jumps, the choreographed display to a filled stadium was performed flawlessly. Three of our jumpers landed perfectly on the pitch in front of around 60,000 spectators, broadcast live on the BBC.

With a tight timeline to slot into as part of the complex pre-match entertainment, we worked closely with both the stadium staff and Event 360, the organising company, to produce the required display in the time available, with great results.

It was great to perform in front of a huge crowd, live TV coverage and only 150ft (45 metres) to jump from. This display was a complete success and has moved us forward in terms of what we can achieve given the opportunity and backing.

The Millennium Stadium has a lot to offer BASE jumpers, and we hope to be back here again in the near future.
